Sartorius has launched the Cubis, a modular laboratory balance that can be custom-configured and adapted for virtually all weighing applications.
With finely graduated weighing capacities of up to 12kg and readabilities from 0.01mg to 0.1g, Cubis can be custom-built, configured and retro-adapted to the changing needs of today's laboratories.
The company says this makes the Cubis suitable for performing a range of weighing tasks from everyday weighing to applications involving complex weighing sequences.
Utilising Sartorius's compact monolithic weigh cells, Cubis is a space-saving, top-loading and full-resolution semi-microbalance with a readability of 0.01mg all the way up to a capacity of 220mg.
A motorised draft shield is optional.
A choice of three user-friendly display and control units covers a variety of laboratory applications.
The MSA unit, a high-resolution touch screen with a bright, high-contrast TFT graphic display, is ideal for sophisticated requirements such as those in the pharmaceutical industry.
The MSU unit, a high-resolution, black-and-white display with positive click-action keys, is designed for a range of simple to complex weighing tasks.
For basic everyday weighing needs, there is the MSE unit, which features a high-contrast LCD display with easy-to-understand menu guidance and clearly arranged keys.
The user guidance menu systems on the MSA and MSU units enable complex weighing procedures to be set up quickly and easily, minimising errors.
The new Q-Guide user interface allows a single balance to be shared by several operators with either similar or different weighing tasks.
Intelligent compensation technology (ICT), exclusive to Cubis, benefits the user with more accurate results by reducing the margin for erroneous data.
ICT displays an alert message whenever the balance is tilted and proceeds to return it to a levelled state through a series of interactive on-screen user prompts.
Moreover, this process is fully automatic with the motorised Q-Level function, which is optionally available on the MSA and MSU models with readabilities less than or equal to 1mg.
Draft shields for Cubis come in a choice of three types, all of which offer user-friendly operation, unobstructed views and high draft protection.
The manual DU draft shield has a smooth-action design and glides open quietly.
For faster weighing tasks, the fully automated DA draft shield has an intelligent learning function that allows the motorised doors to learn and re-enact the user's required open-and-closed door positions.
The motorised DI draft shield features an integrated ioniser that eliminates static electricity inside the chamber, increasing weighing accuracy.
