Product family covers filtration holders and systems, culture media and nutrient pad sets for microbiological analysis as well as reusable holders, sterile disposables and ready-to-connect units
Microbiological analysis of water, beverages, foods and pharmaceuticals at government institutes and in industry is gaining ever-increasing importance.
To ensure accurate results, laboratory staff need high-quality technical equipment and consumables that comply with the international regulations, such as ISO standards, pharmacopoeias, the standard methods as well as directives and guidelines for the food and beverage industry.
Sartorius says its Microsart product family meets these standards, adapting to the growing requirements of the innovative marketplace.
This product family covers filtration holders and systems, culture media and nutrient pad sets for microbiological analysis as well as reusable holders, sterile disposables and ready-to-connect, sterile single-, double- or triple-packaged units.
The newly developed Microsart e.motion membrane filter dispenser fulfills all requirements placed on advanced laboratory equipment, says the company.
The membrane filters are fully automatically removed from their sterile package - either in a touch-free mode via an optical sensor or at the touch of a button.
Thanks to their new motorised traction roller, each filter is quickly and reliably dispensed.
Membranes that accidentally slide out of their packaging or that get damaged in the process are now problems of the past, says Sartorius.
The software controller specially designed for the Microsart e.motion ensures that each membrane filter is dispensed within seconds, simultaneously preventing several membrane filters from being dispensed at a time.
The membrane filter packaging specifically developed for Microsart e.motion is easy to position in this dispenser, and can be quickly and conveniently exchanged - while maintaining the intactness of the sterile packaging.
Moreover, the clear, compact design of the membrane filter dispenser permits fast and easy cleaning.
The membrane filters ideal for use in Microsart e.motion are sterile-sealed in an individual sterile-grade package without any interleaving paper.
The membranes are made of cellulose nitrate (cellulose ester); their various colours - which can be selected according to the particular application - provide a high-contrast background, enabling reliable enumeration of colonies.
For microbiological analysis, the membrane filters feature excellent performance specifications, high recovery rates of microorganisms, short wet-out times and compliance with the current international directives, standards, requirements and guidelines.
Sartorius e.motion membrane filters are available in a choice of three different pore sizes and three filter colours.
To guarantee complete traceability, the membrane filter type, diameter, lot number and a unique, consecutive number is printed on the package of each membrane filter.
In addition, data such as the date of sterilisation and expiration, pore size and a bar code are provided for fast and flexible usage in the lab.
One-hundred percent quality and compliance with currently valid standards, such as ISO 7704 for 0.45um membranes, are confirmed by the respective certificate.
The specially developed pore structure of high-flow membranes permits faster filtration runs thanks to the membranes' high flow rates and throughputs.
All Sartorius membranes are 'one size fits all'; ie, the filters can be used in other conventional manual and semi-automatic dispensers.
