LAB, the European trade fair and conference for analysis, bio and laboratory equipment in the UK, has announced that the UK Science Park Association will be supporting LAB 2009 in Birmingham.
Staged every two years, LAB will be held at the NEC in Birmingham on 27-29 October 2009.
LAB is predominantly aimed at manufacturers and users of analysis, biotechnology and laboratory equipment in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food and tobacco industries, as well as public and private sector organisations in medical and environmental engineering.
The UK Science Park Association (UKSPA) will be supporting LAB by organising conference streams focusing on current issues and best practice for laboratories including those based on UK Science Parks.
In addition, UKSPA will organise parts of the European Business Forum covering discussions and presentations on a range of topics including: funding, research and development taxation, business support through UK regional development agencies and other national sources of advice and finance.
The UKSPA contribution will ensure that the Business Forum demonstrates the role that Science Parks - and other UK environments - play in delivering business services at a time of economic downturn.
Furthermore, UKSPA is planning study tours to local UKSPA member science parks alongside the event for interested visitors, conference attendees and exhibitors.
