The Hanatek Advanced Friction Tester (AFT) is for testing the friction characteristics of plastic film, paper, board, foil and many other materials.
The friction tester provides static and dynamic COF values and a force curve showing the full surface profile.
The touch screen and interface allow the AFT to be used as a simple pass/fail QC instrument or as a research tool with full friction force characterisation.
The AFT is pre-loaded with ISO/ASTM/TAPPI/FINAT test methods and has pictorial help screens that ensure user training is fast and accessible.
Advanced users can create bespoke tests for all methods as required.
The instrument generates real-time force curves showing in detail the friction profile of the tested material.
All results can be compared graphically to a previously tested reference.
The graph can also be overlaid to help understand batch-to-batch consistency and quality, which can lead to savings in raw materials.
By offering an optional paper and board friction test attachment, the Hanatek AFT is fully compliant to ISO 15359.
A guidance system is used to keep the sled parallel with the table and the sled is lowered into position without any movement of the table, bringing accuracy and repeatability to paper and board friction measurement.
It is also possible to conduct other tests using the Hanatek AFT including peel strength and T-peel, substrate tear strength, and blocking testing.
Adding these options eliminates the need for multiple test instruments and provides savings on purchase cost, calibration fees and laboratory space.
All options can be added at any point for maximum flexibility.
The integrated PC allows test reports to be printed directly to a windows printer or results can be exported to a USB data stick.
The instrument can also be integrated to a laboratory network or SAP system.
Hanatek also offers a heated measurement platen to enable testing to be done at temperatures up to 110C.
The AFT weighs 7kg, has a width of 550cm and complies with the requirements of ASTMD-1894 for testing friction.
For a limited time, the instrument is available with free first-year on-site calibration or T-peel test attachments.
