Bronkhorst has won a Golden Gas Award for its Mass-ViewR instrument, developed as an alternative to the variable area meter.
Employing the same vertical installation format and process connections as variable area meters, the Mass-View series incorporates a digital bar graph of actual gas flow that, thanks to an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display, is clearly and accurately visible from all angles.
It can also indicate a variety of flow readings, including totalised figures, with the various menu options accessed via a four-way button on the front plate.
There are no fragile glass components in the flow path.
In addition, since Mass-View operates on the principle of direct, thermal mass flow measurement, it is virtually independent of fluctuations in gas temperature or pressure and measuring accuracy is therefore high.
The range handles flow rates between 0.01SLM and 200SLM and pressures up to 10 bar (150psi).
An electrical output signal enables data logging and full accountability of gas flow, such as in a shared ring main application; while an optional in-built needle valve enables Mass-View to be used for flow control applications.
Pricing is competitive and power consumption is low.
