19 July 2010 - Millipore and BioOutsource have formed a strategic alliance to offer a biosafety testing partner that biopharmaceutical manufacturers can rely on as an extension of their QA teams.
The collaboration will enable Millipore and BioOutsource to bring a full range of biosafety services to industrial clients. The criticality of release testing for vaccine and biological products can create challenges for biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical organisations, which in turn can lead to delays in product development and release. Through the combination of Millipore's cGMP facility in Leiden, the Netherlands, and BioOutsource's cGMP facility in Glasgow, UK, the organisations said biopharmaceutical manufacturers can be confident that their drug products will be produced safely and successfully. 29 June 2010 - Millipore has announced that its Danvers, Massachusetts, manufacturing facility clean room has achieved Gold LEED certification. This certification under the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building rating system acknowledges Millipore's remodelled space for efficient use of water, energy and waste, while manufacturing its single-use technologies.
18 September 2009 - Millipore is to present a seminar on 'Innovations and Challenges for Sterilising-Grade Technologies' at its Jaffrey, New Hampshire facility on 24 September 2009.
The event will focus on the current and future state of sterilising-grade technologies, and will include a tour of Millipore's bioprocess manufacturing centre of excellence.
Quality assurance and regulatory experts from the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research and Glaxosmithkline will be on hand for a discussion on the challenges and opportunities faced by today's bioprocessing companies.
14 September 2009 - Millipore is to collaborate with Roka Bioscience to develop molecular assays and portable instruments for biopharmaceutical production.
27 April 2009 - Millipore Corporation and Microbix Biosystems have announced a collaboration to develop a purification process for influenza virus vaccine manufacturing.
As part of the collaboration, Millipore plans to develop a new technology for single-step purification of influenza virus to replace ultracentrifugation.
Microbix will supply egg-based influenza virus for use in product development studies and provide access to its Virusmax technology.
