Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of the Thermo Scientific Simpler Red DNA Polymerase.
Like its predecessor, Thermo Scientific Simple Red DNA Polymerase, Simpler Red incorporates an inert red dye for error-free pipetting and easier reaction set up.
As a recombinant enzyme, it also offers higher purity for increased performance and greater reproducibility in polymerase chain reactions (PCR).
Thermo Scientific Simpler Red DNA Polymerase is a recombinant Taq DNA polymerase expressed in E coli.
The recombinant enzyme is shown to have equivalent activity and specificity compared to native Taq, but offers higher purity and greater stability.
Simpler Red is therefore able to offer improved overall PCR performance.
The inert red dye in Simpler Red allows the enzyme to be easily visualised, providing immediate confirmation of accurate pipetting, without affecting reaction performance.
The addition of enzyme to each well can be seen at a glance, ensuring accurate and consistent results.
