ST Japan-Europe has introduced the EZ-Pick II hand-held micromanipulator, to easily prepare samples at any location.
The EZ-Pick II has the shape of a pen, with a mounting device to attach sampling probes such as needles or knives at the front end.
Inside the pen, there is an ultra-mini high-performance CCD and an optical lens built in.
While manipulating samples or extracting small particles for further examination, sample prep operations are seen magnified on the attached 7in LCD monitor.
According to the application, the appropriate type of sample probe, such as knives, needles, tweezers or diamond plane, can be attached to the head of the stylus.
The EZ-Pick II is an effective portable inspection tool for removing surface accretions in fine art conservation, for on-site forensic analysis, small particle analysis, surface analysis and precision hand assembly.
