7 July 2009 - Morgan Electro Ceramics is continuing its collaboration with academia by sponsoring the Royal Society of Chemistry's Young Scientists' Symposium 2009.
A joint venture between Glyndwr University Materials Science Research Centre, the chemistry department of Bangor University, and the Optic Technium at St Asaph, the symposium is a platform for young scientists from within the participating departments and local industry to present their research work in a friendly, supportive setting.
Dr Ashley Darby, piezo shapes business unit manager, Morgan Technical Ceramics, assisted in judging the presentations at the event, which took place on 1 July 2009.
Morgan Technical Ceramics Ruabon is working with Glyndwr University Materials Science Research Centre on a number of projects, including the development of piezoelectric transducers for energy harvesting.
The company sponsored the symposium's awards for Best Speaker and Best Poster.
