Malvern Instruments will sponsor a pre-conference course on 5-6 September, ahead of the ECIS (European Colloid and Interface Society) 2009 conference, to be held 6-11 September in Antalya, Turkey.
The course will provide up to 30 participants with hands-on application experience in rheology, zeta potential and dynamic light scattering measurements relating to surfactant and polymer self-assembly.
The course, entitled 'Self-Assembly of Surfactants and Polymers: Fundamentals and Application', will include 10-12 hours of lectures given by surface chemist and colloid expert Prof Bjorn Lindman, from the University of Lund, Sweden.
Malvern will supply Kinexus rotational rheometer platforms and Zetasizer Nano systems for the hands-on sessions.
Malvern's Kinexus rheometer and rSpace software user-interface provide robust and reliable methodology and procedures for characterising the rheological properties of colloids.
Sample properties available for measurement with the Zetasizer Nano system include particle size, molecular weight and zeta potential.
