ALcontrol has announced a web-based system that provides access to reports and online scheduling, directly into its laboratory information management system.
Customers will no longer have to call a laboratory to request an update on the testing status of a sample or request preliminary data.
Currently, if there is an error when completing a Chain of Custody, the laboratory has to then track down the project manager or site engineer who submitted it, and the exact tests then have to be confirmed and clarified, which can take more than an hour.
Developed by ALcontrol, as part of its e-commerce strategy, @MIS gives customers 24/7 real-time access to reporting tools, the ability to schedule tests, check the status of results and sample analysis, and archive reports.
Using this online service, the company said that customers will benefit from greater control of the scheduling process by directly specifiying online the tests required on a sample, which are electronically passed to ALcontrol's laboratory information system (Lims).
As soon as the sample is received the containers are scanned and linked to the electronic schedule so that sample preparation and testing can start immediately.
Improved quality and reliability mean fewer errors and a record of transactions.
The system offers faster turnaround and less necessity for project management, as well as direct interaction with the laboratory and the assurance that the electronic scheduling instructions are more reliable than paper, providing complete information.
With @MIS, customers can check on the progress of analyses, view preliminary data and access detailed final reports.
These can be held in a dedicated archive for future traceability and planning.
