Genevac has developed Speedtrap technology, which is designed to provide high-performance solvent trapping.
The Speedtrap has a high-power compressor running at - 50C and is simple to use.
All solvents collect in the insulated, plastic-coated glass vessel as a liquid, even water, therefore there is no time wasted waiting for the system to defrost, according to Genevac.
The user can see the progress of evaporation and determine when the trap should be emptied.
The collection vessel is removed with a simple quarter turn, allowing users to quickly and safely empty the cold trap.
Speedtrap features an efficient cooled condenser coil suspended directly in the vapour path enabling solvent vapours to condense directly on to the coils and run off into the collection vessel below without freezing.
This method is highly efficient offering more than twice the condensing power of traditional cold trap systems, Genevac claimed.
Speedtrap technology is available on the latest versions of the Genevac EZ-2 evaporators and as an option with the Mivac modular concentrators.
The Speedtrap works in a similar fashion in both cases, although on the EZ-2 evaporators the Speedtrap has enhanced solvent resistance compared with the version available for use with the Mivac concentrators.
