The Fritsch Pulverisette 14 variable-speed rotor mill rapidly and effectively grinds soft to medium-hard, brittle and fibrous samples.
The rotor mill can even handle the comminution of samples that are difficult to grind or samples and plastics that are temperature sensitive.
This is thanks to the system's efficient air cooling, according to Fritsch.
The company has also developed Fritsch-impact blades, which, together with a sieve ring, enable a very gentle grinding of the sample, which, in many cases, without impact blades would not be possible.
Fritsch claims that the result is an increased grinding action for a particularly fast and effective grinding and the heat load is minimised.
It is suitable for especially temperature-sensitive materials such as powder coatings or plastics, as well as for the smooth pre- and fine grinding of hard-brittle to soft fatty sample or samples with a residual moisture.
Samples that are extremely difficult to grind or that are very temperature sensitive, such as styrene, polyester, synthetic resins, foils, PVC, PP and PE, can be embrittled by adding liquid nitrogen and afterwards being ground with the Pulverisette 14 rotor mill.
Accessories are available for when heavy-metal-/iron-free grinding or sample preparation according to the standard for RoHS analysis is necessary.
The Pulverisette 14 with a real top speed of 20,000rev/min is the turbo mill for sample preparation.
With a feed particle size of less than 10mm, a final fineness of up to 40um can be achieved.
The throughput depends on the material and lies between 0.05 litres and five litres per hour.
Rotors, sieve rings and collecting vessels made of different materials and in different sizes enable an optimal adjustment of the instrument to the application.
