Symyx Technologies has announced a web seminar, entitled 'How a Chemistry Electronic Notebook Can Take Your Reactions to the Next Step', which is set to take place on 28 October 2009.
The seminar is aimed at synthetic and medicinal chemists needing to design and share synthesis plans and IT managers supporting scientific informatics groups.
Today, synthetic and medicinal chemists and lab managers face many challenges including documenting synthetic methodologies, representing molecules and reactions consistently, reporting and sharing experimental results, sourcing compounds quickly and cost-effectively and co-ordinating workflows across geographic and business boundaries.
The complimentary web seminar has been designed to demonstrate how electronic notebooks can improve personal productivity and the ability to share knowledge with other members of an organisation.
Participants will learn how to use an electronic laboratory notebook to design single- and multi-step, linear and convergent reaction plans, access online compound property data, plan and execute small-molecule library syntheses, search and find reaction plans, methods and protocols and collaborate with colleagues on synthetic routes.
