Range of slides in 16-well and 48-well formats allows the simultaneous conduction of multiple microarray experiments on a single slide
Schott Nexterion, a supplier of product solutions for microarray applications, has launched Nexterion Slide MPX, a range of slides that allows the simultaneous conduction of multiple microarray experiments on a single slide.
A major benefit of Nexterion Slide MPX is that it permits exceptional reproducibility of microarray data by ensuring identical experimental conditions for multiple microarray assays.
In addition, the total costs of microarray experiments can be substantially reduced by minimising the consumption of slides, target material, RNA amplification reagents and labeling dyes.
Additionally, Nexterion Slide MPX permits higher signal intensities, since less target volume per assay is needed compared to conventional microarray assays, and target concentrations can easily be increased.
Nexterion Slide MPX is comprised of coated glass substrates that are partitioned into individual wells, using a hydrophobic patterning material. The slides are delivered together with superstructures and sealing strips to avoid cross contamination and excessive evaporation during hybridisation.
Nexterion Slide MPX is available in 16-well and 48-well formats and is offered with all standard coating chemistries from Schott Nexterion's currently available product line (aminosilane, epoxysilane and aldehydesilane).
A hydrogel variant, for multiplexed protein arraying, was recently launched for beta testing.
For a large number of versatile assay designs, the MPX format significantly facilitates toxico- and pharmacogenomic studies, SNP genotyping assays, differential expression assays, cellular pathway analysis and molecular diagnostics.
Nexterion Slide MPX can also be used to conduct chip-based versions of traditional enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays (Elisas).
