Opto Diode has introduced its OD-469L high-output blue LEDs, which are said to be ideal for fluorescence in medical, scientific testing instruments, and forensic applications.
The lighting device features a narrow beam angle and is available in a hermetically sealed TO-5 can with three leads.
The electro-optical characteristics at 25C deliver total output power ranging from 80mW (minimum) to 170mW (typical).
The dominant emission wavelength is from 465nm to 475nm with typical operation at 470nm.
Absolute maximum ratings (at 25C) include 1,000mW power dissipation (infinite heatsink), 350mA continuous forward current, peak forward current (1 1/10 duty cycle at 1kHz) at 2A, and reverse voltage at 5V.
Thermal parameters for storage and operating temperatures are -55C to 100C, with the maximum junction temperature at 125C.
Opto Diode said the lead-soldering temperature (at 1/16in from the case for 10sec) is 260C, making the LEDs easy and convenient to install into an existing or new system design.
