The IFP Institut fur Produktqualitat from Berlin has announced that AOAC International has granted AOAC-RI certification to several Vitafast vitamin tests.
This certification assures Vitafast users that these test kits meet stringent AOAC standards for excellent performance in the determination of vitamin contents in food samples and pharmaceutical products.
Vitafast test kits are ready-to-use kits in microtiter plate format for the microbiological, quantitative analysis of all water-soluble vitamins and a selection of amino acids.
The tests contain all the required reagents (standard, medium, microtiter plate with specific micro-organism) and are easy to use.
Vitafast vitamin tests for vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), folic acid and pantothenic acid met the AOAC-RI's standards and reached the Performance Tested Method Status for their reliable and unambiguous results.
The AOAC-RI testing comprised a broad range of foods, for example liquid samples, sweets, cereal products, infant food products and meat.
The tests are also suitable for detecting the respective vitamins in animal feed and pharmaceutical products.
The microbiological method requires up to 80 per cent less time and the selected format permits a high degree of automation and equally high precision and accuracy.
The AOAC-RI approval was granted for the following tests: Vitafast Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), certificate number 100902; Vitafast Folic Acid, certificate number 100903; and Vitafast Pantothenic Acid, certificate number 100904.
Certifications for further products in the Vitafast series are already in the validation phase and will be introduced soon.
Vitafast is distributed world-wide by R - Biopharm AG (Darmstadt, Germany).
