Air Products has increased the shelf life of many of its gas mixtures from five to 10 years.
The extended shelf life, which has been achieved as a result of technological advances in gas-mixture production and cylinder-treatment technology, provides extra reassurance for gas users in the pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical, laboratory and environmental-management industries.
Many gas mixtures containing a combination of more than 100 gas components - including argon, helium, carbon dioxide, oxygen, rare gases and many hydrocarbons and halocarbons - now come with an Air Products certificate of analysis, offering the customer a 10-year guarantee.
Previously, the stability of gas mixtures was guaranteed for a maximum of five years depending on the type of components and their concentration.
