International Forum Design has awarded the Sartorius group two IF Product Design Awards, for the Cubis premium laboratory balance and Arium Pro laboratory water-purification system.
The two products beat a range of international competitors in the medicine/healthcare category.
The jury for the IF Product Design Awards assessed about 2,500 entries from 39 nations.
Participants competed against one another in 16 categories.
Sartorius released the Cubis range of premium balances at the start of 2009.
They feature a modular design and can be custom-configured and adapted to the changing requirements of different working environments.
Thanks to the newly developed operating concept, they meet the latest requirements of laboratory balances - from the simple weighing of substances to managing complex processes.
The Arium Pro laboratory water-purification system produces ultrapure water for use in laboratory analysis.
Lab workers can obtain the water quickly, safely and in a cost-effective manner.
The water can then be used in ion chromatography, cell cultivation and protein purification.
The design awards will be handed out on 2 March 2010 on the first day of CEBIT in Hanover.
