The Sanyo MDF-U500VX ULT freezer can maintain a temperature in the -70C range even if one of its compressors fails.
The MDF-U500VX uses Sanyo's Twin Guard Dual Cooling Technology to provide freezing down to -86C with exceptional temperature distribution throughout the freezer's storage chamber.
Dual Cooling Technology does not require a conventional cascade refrigeration system to achieve temperatures of -86C.
Dual-Cooling compressors work independently of each other, unlike cascade systems, where two compressors rely on each other to achieve ultra-low temperatures.
This means that cooling can still be provided in an MDF-U500VX even if one compressor fails.
A temperature in the -70C range is continuously maintained if only one compressor is working, which not only protects samples for longer than in a conventional freezer, but also allows the user more time to arrange service visits and contingencies.
Samples are further protected by Sanyo's new Super-Condenser and Cool-Safe compressors.
The new Super-Condenser is efficient and requires no filter.
This eliminates the requirement of filter cleaning and since there is no restriction to air flow, due to particulate build-up on a filter, the compressors suffer less strain.
Novel engineering features have been applied to the compressors to reduce the running temperatures.
Less heat in a compressor helps to extend its life.
This model has: a 519-litre capacity; extensive alarm systems; diagnostic systems to pre-warn of potential abnormalities; eco mode, which provides reduced running costs; large LCD display with on-board performance data logging; and VIP Plus, which provides 30 per cent more storage capacity compared with conventionally insulated freezers of the same footprint.
