Follett has introduced a line of single-door upright refrigerators with features that provide cabinet-wide cooling, complete user-programmable monitoring and alarming and energy savings.
The new refrigerators feature an advanced airflow design; forced air enters the cabinet interior through six slots in a back plenum to deliver temperature consistency at all levels in the cabinet, even when it is heavily loaded with product.
An all-in-one top-mounted refrigeration module eliminates the interior hanging evaporator and fan assembly found in other designs and increases the useable storage space while providing the performance needed for critical product storage, according to the company.
Follett's 3in (7.6cm) LCD screen displays product temperature and alarm/feature status and provides navigation to all user-selectable features.
Audible and visual alarms include high and low temperature, power failure, door ajar, low battery and probe errors.
User-selectable features include alarm set points, volume and mute, backup battery status, password protection, calibration and refrigeration system controls.
The company designed all models with energy-saving features such as full-length light-emitting-diode (LED) bars that eliminate the delay of fluorescent bulbs, consume less energy and generate virtually no heat.
The company claims that a full 2.75in of CFC-free foam insulation reduces conduction heat loss, refrigerator runtime and power consumption by as much as 40 per cent compared with other models.
The special low-E coating on Follett's dual-pane glass door also reduces energy loss by between 30 per cent and 50 per cent.
Six models in 20ft3 and 24ft3 capacities are available - all standard with stainless-steel exteriors and interiors to deliver long cabinet life and to resist the rust and scratches that occur with powder-coated surfaces.
Interior storage configurations include full-extension epoxy-coated baskets or stainless drawers, as well as epoxy-coated shelves.
