An ultra-compact label and wristband printer - the CG2 series - has been launched in the UK by Sato.
The CG2 can be used to print 2in labels, receipts, wristbands or HF RFID tags on demand, when used with a PC or as a stand-alone system controlled by a Sato keypad.
Its antimicrobial cover makes the printer suitable for environments where cleanliness and hygiene are paramount.
With its small footprint, the CG2 is also suitable where there is limited counter or desktop space.
It provides printing at the touch of a button for operators anywhere on the shop floor, in a back office or a lab.
Typical applications include price and shelf-edge labelling, mark-down labelling, returns labelling, entry and identification wristbands, specimen labelling and access control and management - especially item tracking.
Print resolution is up to 305dpi, which is necessary to print text and barcodes, including 2D barcodes on very small labels such as those commonly used in the electronics sector for component labelling and in laboratories for identifying and tracking specimens.
The CG2 printer is RFID ready and can print HF RFID labels and tags.
The printer's clam shell design and simple label mechanism makes it easy to load media.
No tools are needed to replace print heads and platen rollers.
