Fritsch has introduced the Analysette 12 Dynasizer, which uses the dynamic light scattering measuring method.
The new instrument enables the measurement of particle size distributions between 1nm and 6,000nm.
This new Analysette 12 Dynasizer extends the Fritsch product range in the field of laser particle sizing down to the lower nano range.
For measurements with the Analysette 12 Dynasizer, only small sample volumes of less than 50ul are necessary, which are applied directly onto the optical measuring cell inside the instrument, making disposables such as cuvettes or similar obsolete.
According to the company, the intelligent design of the instrument simplifies cleaning.
With the Analysette 12 Dynasizer, the thickness of the measurement layer can be variably adjusted.
This enables the measurements of extremely thin layers and prevents unwanted multi-scattering effects.
It also facilitates the measurement of concentrated suspensions as well as in opaque media.
The power of the Analysette 12 Dynasizer's laser is variably adjustable and enables the measurements of very dark samples or high particle concentrations.
Features of the new instrument include: particle size measurement via dynamic light scattering at a constant scattering angle of 135deg; a measuring range of 1nm to 6,000nm; easy handling; small sample quantities of less than 50ul; simple sample feeding directly into the instrument; a thin measurement layer, which avoids multiple scatterings; particle concentrations from 0.0003 per cent up to 40 per cent; the ability to measure dark dispersions, such as ink or oil; the limitation of laser-induced temperature effects; a selectable sample temperature between +15C and +70C; a variable laser intensity according to the dispersion concentration; ISO 13321/21 CFR part 11; and a unique algorithm for particle size calculation.
