Intertek's expanded materials and corrosion testing services bring new capabilities to the Westport facility, including CO2 corrosion and inhibition testing, corrosion resistant alloys testing, flow accelerated and localised corrosion studies, microbial influenced corrosion testing, sour service expertise, electrochemistry and chemical analysis.
An autoclave capability for corrosion-related tests at elevated temperatures and pressures is planned.
One of Intertek's established corrosion consultancy and testing centres, Intertek Capcis, supports the Westport expansion with technical consultancy and training.
Comparability and consistency between the two sites is ensured by direct transfer of Capcis test methods and associated quality systems.
