The Microarray Solutions product group at Schott TGS has chosen Tecan's Hydroflex microplate washer for the development and quality control of its Nexterion brand of coated-glass products.
Dr Rudiger Dietrich, director of research and development and technical support at Microarray Solutions, said: 'As well as our standard Nexterion MPX microscope slide and Nexterion MTP microtiter plate formats, we can produce customised coated glass in any format to suit different customer needs.
'With the increasing popularity of the microplate format, we have chosen Tecan's Hydroflex plate washer to run several test applications for the automated quality control of Nexterion MTP format plates.
'We are particularly impressed by its reproducibility and have been able to optimise our protocols by adjusting various parameters such as liquid volumes and rinsing times.
'The protocols we develop are shared with our customers, saving them time by helping them to develop their own wash protocols quickly,' he added.
According to Dietrich, the company also uses a Tecan HS 4800 Pro hybridisation station and a Tecan LS Reloaded scanner in its research-and-development laboratory.
