Malvern Instruments is to present a web seminar covering 'The Malvern Cement Solution' on 31 March 2010.
The webinar will consider how the technique of laser diffraction particle size analysis can provide a means of increasing cement process efficiency and product quality or strength.
Starting with lab-based measurements, the presenters will show how the technique provides a modern means of predicting strength with higher precision that traditional surface area measurements permit.
They will look at its application within automated laboratories and on-line for the implementation of fully automated closed-loop control, evaluating the energy and cost savings that can result.
Participation in the web seminar is open to all at no charge - interested parties can register on the Malvern events website.
To coincide with the webinar, a new version of the cement industry section of the Malvern website will go live.
This area will provide technical and product information across the full range of Malvern's cement industry solutions and will house background information for the industry, provide access to examples of Malvern installations and experiences, and enable the free downloading of case studies.
Malvern's analytical solutions for cement range from the Mastersizer 2000, a versatile, easy-to-use reference laboratory solution through to Insitec technology for real-time, continuous plant monitoring.
The newest addition to this portfolio, the Insitec Cement Labsizer, is designed to meet the demand for solutions that integrate within an automated lab, delivering rapid and fully automated particle size measurement for samples up to 150g.
