Thermo Fisher Scientific has introduced its most energy-efficient 1300 Series A2 Biological Safety Cabinets to date.
The models, thoroughly tested and certified by NSF, are available in coated interior and one-piece stainless steel interior options.
Both offer a reduced airflow using a smaller 8in aperture to extend the life of the HEPA filters by 20 per cent, while requiring only 180W to operate.
Lower airflow exhaust also minimises the cost of laboratory air exchange when the cabinets are thimble-ducted for hazardous applications.
The 1300 Series A2 employs a Smartflow airflow compensation system that maintains a safe environment for the user.
This feature is combined with Digital Airflow Verification, which independently monitors product and personnel protection, and alerts the user if safety is compromised.
The lower airflow requirements of the 1300 Series A2 can reduce noise levels to as low as 62dB(A), resulting in a more comfortable working environment within the laboratory.
