Monmouth Scientific has launched the Sonocool 255 ultrasonic bath with cooling for use in pathology and analysis laboratories.
The company said the use of the Sonocool 255 has many advantages including that heat-sensitive samples can be processed without damage, shorter processing times of decalcifying of bone tissue, and preservation of cell structures by utilisation of a shorter contact time with liquid.
The Sonocool 255 has a bath size of 280 x 150 x 150mm and holds five litres of fluid.
The bath temperature can be maintained at a user-selected level between 15C and 30C, while the power can be adjusted in four steps.
The system is provided with a 2mm thick stainless steel bath for increased longevity along with a glass lid for easy sample viewing.
The LCD display shows all necessary operation parameters such as remaining process time, bath temperature, power levels and set time/temperature.
The unit is also provided with a serial interface for connection to and control by a remote computer.
