Olympus America is providing imaging systems and support for a new research centre dedicated to life-science imaging at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill.
The new UNC-Olympus Research Imaging Center provides researchers with advanced microscopes and camera equipment, software, consultation and expertise, in an environment intended to encourage scientific inquiry.
The centre is designed to stimulate collaboration among life-science research faculty members and will also be available to guest researchers.
Olympus America is providing research microscopes, confocal instruments, digital imaging equipment, intra-vital imaging tools, incubation microscopes, software and staffing and technical support.
Researchers using the centre work in cell biology, neuroscience, pharmacology and other specialties that contribute to the study of cancer, Alzheimer's Disease and other conditions.
