YMC specialises in difficult, multistep synthesis in the micro-reactor and offers syntheses and chromatographic clean-ups from a single source, in quantities from milligrams to kilograms.
By applying complex micro-reactor systems it is possible to put new synthesis routes to the test that are not possible in batch processing.
This enables higher yields, fewer by-products and often shorter reaction times.
This in turn means that the required substance is available more quickly and often at a higher purity level as well.
In an initial feasibility study YMC tests whether the required substance can be synthesised continuously in micro-fluidic systems.
In the commercial field of syntheses on demand, the company can offer services from research projects to the manufacture of complex molecules in quantities of only a few milligrams to process development and production by the kilogram.
Complex tasks, such as catalyst screening or temperature optimisation with extensive process data material, are dealt with quickly and efficiently by the automated synthesis platform.
All process data is available after the end of the project and can be further used for scaling up or production.
YMC said it offers everything expected from a high-performance synthesis provider and deals with the entire spectrum of preparative, organic chemistry, including stereo-selective syntheses such as the selection of suitable catalysts, whether organometallic or enzymatic.
Synthesis activities include: process development and production in kilogram quantities; feasibility studies; synthesis process research and optimisation; parallel synthesis, process intensification and process data recording; research commissions for multi-step syntheses of complex molecules; syntheses of small quantities up to 1,000g; separations and purification using liquid chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography in quantities from milligrams to kilograms.
YMC also synthesises metabolites, building blocks and reference substances on demand for its customers and is capable of making kilogram quantities of the highest purity (>98 per cent) up to production scale.
