Cambridge Sensotec has launched the Rapidox 1100L, an electrochemical oxygen analyser designed to allow ppm oxygen measurements when measuring the purity of hydrogen and helium.
The analyser allows oxygen measurements to be carried out in applications for which zirconia sensors are unsuitable.
Gases including hydrogen, helium, explosive gases and certain solvents can interfere with the response of zirconia sensors, in which case an electrochemical sensor may give better results.
The Rapidox 1100L can measure oxygen from 10,000ppm down to 0.1ppm and is unaffected by these gases.
Cambridge Sensotec developed the 1100L with International Technologies of Germany.
The sensor has full temperature and pressure correction and the sensor is resistant to positioning from CO2.
The instrument contains proprietary electronics to enhance its response.
The Rapidox 1100L is a sister product to the Rapidox 1100E electrochemical analyser, which can measure from 100 per cent to 0.1 per cent oxygen.
