At Ilass Europe, Malvern's Dr Anne Virden will present a paper focusing on 'the effect of viscosity, pump mechanism and orifice diameter on the droplet size of a nasal spray'.
Dr Virden's paper describes work undertaken using Malvern's latest Spraytec system and exemplifies one of its many applications in the pharmaceutical sector.
Spraytec delivers a data-acquisition rate of up to 10kHz, a dynamic range of 0.1 to 2,000um and a patented multiple scattering algorithm for measurement at high concentrations.
With easy instrument configuration and a wide optical working range, the system's integral software provides effective data analysis, making it easier to detect and understand the source of any variability in atomisation performance.
Applications can also be found in fuel injectors, agrochemical nozzles, inhaled pharmaceuticals and coating systems.
Ilass will be held on 6-8 September 2010 in Brno, Czech Republic Customers who bring a photo of their 2600 laser diffraction particle size analyser in action to Malvern's stand will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPod Nano.
