SP Scientific has signed a volume purchase agreement with Silicon Turnkey Solutions (STS) to supply multiple Thermojet Environment Simulator (ES) temperature-cycling systems.
Temperature cycling using the Thermojet ES enables rapid assessment of the reliability of semiconductor products.
The system provides a source of precisely controlled hot and cold air that can be used for rapidly testing components, hybrids, modules, PCBs and assemblies.
'We have chosen this specialised equipment to enable much extended temperature ranges, improved cycle time and guaranteed DUT level testing for advanced product line customers,' said Zef Malik, chief executive officer of STS.
'This system performs multiple temperatures testing through single insertions and offers superior compliance to thermal requirements to cater to our high-reliability customers,' he added.
'The Thermojet ES is the only temperature-cycling air system that utilises a dual-stage cascade refrigeration system,' said Cindy Reiter, director of marketing and thermal-management equipment at SP Scientific.
'This enables it to deliver the highest cooling capacity, heat removal and reliability on the market - compact and completely self contained, the Thermojet ES requires no external cooling source such as liquid carbon dioxide or nitrogen,' she said.
'Using standard, off-the-shelf, environmentally friendly refrigerants, the system reduces downtime and saves on maintenance costs,' she added.
