Konica Minolta Sensing and Satake have established a partnership within the UK flour milling industry for the colour measurement of flour to ensure the best quality products are produced.
Satake Europe specialises in the engineering processes for cereal grains and related powdered and granular materials, including colour sorting of granular materials.
The latest edition to Satake's list of products is the multi-standard flour tristimulus colour grader, which has been made possible by the collaboration with Konica Minolta Sensing.
Satake and Konica Minolta Sensing have worked to support customers and the relevant industrial research organisations in order to bring about the introduction of a laboratory method for tristimulus flour colour measurement into the UK cereals market.
'The system offers a quick and accurate way of determining tristimulus flour colour using a dry sample while offering legacy wet-sample measurement to the previous colour standard,' said Martin Clare, instrumentation specialist at Satake Europe.
Konica Minolta Sensing Europe offers a range of high-accuracy instruments for measuring colour and light to contribute to maintaining and improving product quality in a variety of industries.
It is also active in the medical sector, and in the field of 3D form digitisation.
