Sanyo has launched the MDF-C8V1 personal -86C freezer to store precious samples and prevent adverse situations that could occur if samples are stored in a communal freezer.
With the MDF-C8V1, scientists can arrange samples in the order that they want, open and close the freezer only when they want and even lock the freezer for added protection.
The freezer has a storage capacity of 3,400 2ml tubes and features Sanyo's VIP Plus insulation system, which is said to enable reduced insulation thickness by 50 per cent compared with conventional insulation systems.
The result is a high-performance freezer with a small footprint, which reduces the installation space required.
The refrigeration circuit does not require a dust filter so the inconvenient customer maintenance procedure of filter cleaning is unnecessary.
The MDF-C8V1 incorporates an audible and visual alarm system to warn of power failure and abnormal temperature conditions.
A liquid CO2 back-up connection and a chart recorder are available as separate options.
