Biotage, a developer of tools and technology for medicinal and analytical chemistry, has introduced the Isolera UV/Vis flash purification system for applications including dyes and chemicals.
The UV-Vis system enables the detection of organic molecules with spectral absorbance between 200nm and 800nm.
The system provides detection capable to near-infrared range.
Applications for the UV-Vis system include natural products (carotenoids, flavanoids, proanthocyanidins, etc), synthetic dyes, diagnostic dyes, and OLED chemicals.
The Isolera UV-Vis incorporates Innovative Go Technology, which reduces solvent use by up to 60 per cent by converting linear gradients to optimised step gradients.
In addition, the quatro-binary gradient capability enables use of up to four solvents in a single binary gradient to speed and improve the separation of complex samples.
With the patented TLC-to-Gradient capability, the system simplifies method transfer from TLC.
The system is also optimised for use with universal fit, Snap flash purification cartridges, delivering high quality while remaining cost-effective.
Default methods are designed around both TLC conditions and cartridge sizes, allowing chemists to simply load a sample, choose a method and go.
With the addition of the UV-VIS system to the current UV and ELSD offering, Biotage now delivers a flash purification solution for practically every compound type including coloured molecules, UV-transparent, and UV-absorbing compounds.
The Isolera UV-VIS system is available as a single-channel Isolera One, four-channel sequential Isolera Four and in the Isolera LS for large-scale flash purification.
The Isolera UV-VIS will be presented to the public on 22 August at the ACS Fall 2010 National Meeting and Exposition in Boston, Massachusetts.
