Torrey Pines Scientific has launched a compact chilling/heating dry bath targeted at molecular biology laboratories carrying out hybridisations, sample prep for PCR, ligations and enzyme reactions.
The Echotherm Model IC20XR peltier-driven unit offers a variety of precision-made aluminium sample blocks.
The Model IC20XR can freeze, chill or heat samples from -10C to +110C in assay plates, centrifuge tubes of all sizes, vials and almost any size test tube.
The unit is also ideal for robotic applications where a small footprint and an RS232 input/output (I/O) port are required for remote control and data gathering.
The Model IC20XR incorporates a digital display and controls temperature to 1C.
It also features a countdown timer in days, hours, minutes and seconds to 30 days.
Finally, the unit incorporates a data logger and an RS232 interface.
The compact unit measures 6.5in (16.5cm) in width, 8.75in (22.2cm) in depth and 3.5in (8.9cm) in height.
It comes complete with chiller/heater module, a universal power supply, an AC line cord and instructions.
More than 25 standard sample blocks are available.
