Applied Scientific Instrumentation (ASI) offers a range of flat-top and extended range-of-travel stages for enhanced robotic loading and holding of samples.
The extended travel makes for easy robotic loading or holding more samples per stage.
The MS-2500 stage provides 100mm of Y-axis travel and 250mm of X-axis travel, and works well on existing inverted microscopes.
Custom OEM configurations are available, including front-loading stages with more than 300mm of Y-axis travel.
The MS-2500 stage accepts wither standard 160 x 110mm or wide 283-110mm stage inserts.
All axes derive their precise control through the use of closed-loop DC servomotors employing high-resolution encoders for positioning feedback.
The XY stage utilises crossed-roller slides, precision lead-screws, and zero-backlash miniature geared DC servomotors for smooth and accurate motion.
ASI stages come standard with rotary encoders with a resolution of 100nm and bidirectional repeatability better than 800rms.
Resolutions down to 20nm and repeatability accuracies of <300nm rms can be obtained with optional linear encoders.
An optional automated focus/Z-axis also uses ASI's line of closed-loop motor drives and is custom fitted, without modification, to the microscope.
Controller options include rack-mount, compact table-top and OEM board-level.
These controllers accept industry standard commands, provide automatic backlash correction, and allow RS-232 and USB communication with a host computer.
