TTP Labtech will be showcasing Mosquito Crystal and its Mosquito LCP liquid handler at the Advances in Protein Crystallography conference and exhibition on 9-10 November 2010.
Mosquito LCP is a dedicated liquid handler designed to facilitate the crystallisation of membrane proteins, such as G-protein coupled receptors, by offering a fully automated solution to lipid cubic phase (LCP) screening.
It is said to overcome common problems with accurately dispensing nanolitre quantities of these highly viscous lipids and the precise positioning of buffer drops on top required for efficient imaging of membrane crystals.
This automation system enables miniaturised LCP screening to be easily performed with accuracy, while increasing the throughput of crystallisation protocols.
In addition, Joby Jenkins, senior scientist at TTP Labtech, will speak on 'A Fast and Fully Automated Solution for Lipidic Cubic Phase Screening (LCP) Using Mosquito LCP' during the New Instrumentation and Methodologies session at the conference.
The presentation will explore the challenges associated with automating the LCP method and how the Mosquito LCP liquid handler enables accurate LCP screening to be performed easily.
