Quantachrome UK has launched the Microfluidics range of products for creating nanoparticles, designed for applications in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals.
The products offer both top-down (particle size reduction) and bottom-up (using continuous crystallisation, chemical reactions and process intensification) approaches to nanoparticle creation are available.
The range of microfluidisers from Microfluidics includes the LV1 low-volume, high-shear fluid processor for achieving superior nano-emulsions, nano-suspensions, nano-encapsulation and cell disruption protein yield.
For bottom-up nanoparticle creation, Microfluidics Reaction Technology (MRT) uses continuous crystallisation, chemical reactions and process intensification to achieve particle sizes that are not possible with other methods.
