The Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) has announced that the first annual SLAS conference and exhibition will take place on 4-8 February 2012 at the San Diego Convention Centre.
SLAS2012 will combine the best of the former Labautomation and Society for Biomolecular Sciences (SBS) annual conferences to offer participants a well-rounded scientific programme.
The scientific programme will target science, technology and drug discovery to advance: assay development and screening; bioanalytical techniques; diagnostics; drug target biology; high-throughout technologies; informatics; and micro/nano technology.
SLAS has also announced the first in a series of SLAS2012 keynote speakers: Peter G Schultz, Scripps family chair professor in the department of chemistry at the Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA.
The exhibition will be an important component of SLAS2012, where conference participants will preview new product launches from sectors such as drug discovery, development efforts, clinical diagnostics, food and agricultural sciences, forensics and security sciences, petrochemicals and energy, and consumer products.
