Biohit's Safetyspace filter tips allow more space between sample and filter than conventional filter tips, preventing liquid from contacting the filter and increasing accuracy in pipetting solvents.
Other applications that could benefit include: pipetting foaming liquids like buffers and proteins; reverse pipetting; and multiple dispensing functions of electronic pipettes.
Packed in colour-coded single-tray racks, the tips are certified DNase, RNase and endotoxin free and are e-beam pre-sterilised.
These redesigned tips are a suitable tool for any scientist but especially those working in molecular biology, microbiology, cell culture applications and radioactive work.
They offer the best fit with Biohit pipettes but are also compatible with most other pipette brands.
Biohit's tip production received ISO 14644 class 8 cleanroom certification during 2010.
In order to ensure the purity of the tip production, the manufacturer has taken the following measures: using pure virgin polypropylene as raw material for tips (not recycled plastics); maintaining a highly automated tip production process in which human contact is minimised; ensuring personnel wear special clothing such as gloves, masks and hair nets; and wrapping tip trays and refill packs in air-tight plastic.
The company also performs regular purity checks required by ISO 14644 to conform to the ISO 8 classification.
