Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced that its Thermo Scientific Nalgene Mr Frosty line of freezing containers now accommodates 3.6mL, 4.5mL and 5mL cryotubes.
The Mr Frosty range is designed for use with the complete range of Thermo Scientific Nunc and Nalgene cryogenic storage tubes.
According to the company, the freezing containers are safe and simple to use and enable the cooling of samples at an optimal rate of -1C per minute, effectively maintaining cell viability.
Requiring only 100 per cent isopropyl alcohol and a mechanical -70C to -80C freezer, the Mr Frosty containers are ideal for any laboratory requiring the cost-effective and repeatable cryopreservation of cells.
The freezing containers feature low-cost, reusable devices for cooling biological samples at the recommended controlled cooling rate.
They are now available with units and inserts for 1mL, 1.2mL, 1.8mL, 2mL, 3.6mL, 4.5mL and 5mL tubes.
