Perceptive Instruments has released Comet Assay IV v4.3, including updates, such as a Firewire video camera, targeted to make performing the comet assay an even smoother process.
This Firewire video camera delivers three times the resolution of previous models, making it possible to use lower-power microscope objectives, offering a larger field of view and greater depth of field.
This combination improves scoring speed, with more comets per field and less time spent at the controls of the microscope.
For laboratories that record 'hedgehog' comets, the new hedgehog counter will be useful.
Hedgehog counts can be integrated into measurement data, ready to export to Excel for reporting and analysis.
Every element of Comet Assay IV has been comprehensively tested and validated for use on 32- and 64-bit Windows 7, as well as with Microsoft Office 2010, ensuring compatibility with the latest software systems.
Existing Comet Assay IV users that are under warranty or with a maintenance contract are entitled to a free upgrade to Comet Assay IV v4.3.
Those eligible should log into the customer support area of the company's website or contact it directly for details on how to upgrade.
