The UIP16000 ultrasonic processor from Hielscher Ultrasonics is designed for the industrial processing of high-volume streams.
The 16,000W processor works in clusters of three or more units, for large-volume processing, such as to homogenise, disperse or de-agglomerate.
As ultrasonic applications can be scaled up on a straight-line basis, the processing capacity increases with the ultrasonic power.
At production level, processes often require more power than 40kW.
For such processing applications, a cluster of several UIP10000 or UIP16000 devices is recommended.
The UIP16000 combines high power with a minimal footprint.
In a typical setup, the UIP16000 requires two cabinets with a 600 x 600mm footprint.
This makes it easy to retrofit the ultrasonic processor into existing systems, according to the company.
Each UIP16000 works as a self-contained unit, including a generator, a transducer, a sonotrode, a flow cell and closed-loop refrigeration.
The stainless steel cabinets come with noise-insulated walls to reduce the noise emissions outside of the cabinet.
Each ultrasonic application requires a certain optimal combination of sonication amplitude, liquid pressure and temperature.
This optimal configuration can be found in small laboratory or bench-top scale tests - for example, by using a UIP1000hd (1kW) with a flow cell.
The UIP1000hd allows for a variation of the sonication parameters in a wide range.
Once the optimal parameter configuration has been identified, the process efficiency can be scaled up linearly.
As such, the turnkey system comes preconfigured to work at the optimal parameter configuration.
The UIP16000 is designed to facilitate installation and start-up.
The cabinets come preconfigured.
The processor needs to be connected to the process media supply, the power supply and the cooling water.
Data interfaces are available as an option.
Hielscher industrial ultrasonic devices are built for continuous operation in demanding environments.
Every single component of Hielscher industrial ultrasonic processors (of the UIP series) is designed and tested for long-term performance.
In worldwide installations, ultrasonic systems have to handle outdoor installation, dusty air, sprayed liquids or rough handling.
