Sartorius Stedim Biotech has introduced the Clipster aseptic disconnector, a single-use device that allows an aseptic disconnection of silicone tubing in biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
The Clipster is said to be safe, quick and easy to use.
It is available as a standalone product or pre-assembled on single-use transfer lines and bag assemblies.
The aseptic disconnector is used after a fluid transfer to disconnect transfer lines and bag assemblies.
The disconnection of tubes can be performed in non-classified and classified environments while maintaining product sterility.
It is performed with a handheld tool, which ensures easy execution in various space requirements.
The Clipster aseptic disconnector can be applied to multiple sizes of silicone tubing, such as 3/8 x 5/8in and 1/2 x 3/4in.
The validation of this single-use device has been carried out under the most stringent test regimes.
Biological and physical tests were combined to provide data representing a variety of process conditions, including critical applications.
