The Institute of Nanotechnology, Ceram and the Materials Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) have announced a two-day conference dedicated to nanoscale bioceramics in healthcare.
The event will focus on the application of bioactive glass and ceramics at the nanoscale to healthcare and high-tech industries.
The use of novel nanoceramics is rapidly growing in a range of healthcare and medical applications, such as orthopaedics, regenerative medicine, dentistry, biosensing, controlled drug release, high-performance coatings and functionalised biomaterials.
The conference programme will feature presentations covering subjects including: bioactive bone replacement materials; bioactive and nano-structured glasses and ceramics for tissue regeneration; controlled release technology; and novel bioceramics in dentistry.
