Nanolane has installed a Sarfus 3D mapping system for optics and nanotechnology practicals at Enssat, a French institute of technology.
The Sarfus equipment, based on the use of an optical microscope and microscopic slides known as Surfs, enables the direct and real-time characterisation of nanometric layers as well as the visualisation of nano-objects (nanotubes and nanoparticles, for example) without any specific preparation or labelling and in a non-destructive, non-invasive manner.
Nanolane said this technique is particularly suitable for laboratory work at any teaching level, from secondary school to college or university.
It is also suitable for chemical, biological or physical applications.
