Windmill Software is offering a new version of its Comdebug data-logging and com-port troubleshooting software free to subscribers of its 'Monitor' newsletter.
The new version of the software logs data from serial instruments, such as balances, GPS receivers, RFID readers, pH transmitters, titrators, particle analysers, data loggers and so on.
It works with Windmill 7 64-bit as well as other versions of Windows, and lets users enter and record data in hexadecimal, ASCII or binary format.
The software collects data from instruments connected to the PC's com port over RS232, RS422, RS485 and Modbus.
A terminal emulator allows users to troubleshoot serial port connections.
Windmill Software provides free technical support for the life of the software.
When monitoring com-port communications, users can see all bytes sent and received, including non-printing characters such as carriage returns.
This is important when dealing with binary data.
With Comdebug, users can identify and correct communication errors.
Comdebug runs under all versions of Windows, from Windows 7 64-bit down to Windows 95.
