Multimodal control samples show the resolution of Beckman Coulter’s laser diffraction particle size analyser.
Meritics has released a new control material for use on laser diffraction particle size analysers.
The sample is a mixture of sieved materials designed to test the ability of instruments to resolve particle size distribution analysis.
With peaks in the 120/220/420µm size range, the new material is ideal for testing an instrument’s ability to suspend large particles for analysis and give users confidence in their analysis method.
The Beckman Coulter LS 13320, with its enhanced sub micron measurement, uses 4 wavelengths of light, different polarisations of the light, and additional wide angle detectors to maximise the information collected in the region.
A trimode of small particle sizes(<1µm) is already available with peaks at 80/200/500 nanometres to test the resolving power of laser diffraction instruments in the sub-micron region.
This enhanced measurement allows the 3 peaks to be readily resolved.
